APPROVED STANDARD GENERAL WASTE CONTAINERS - NOOSA COUNCIL
Waste and recycling containers used in Noosa Shire must conform to the standard
described within this document. These containers are provided by Council through council’s
contracted waste collection contractor. Cost recovery for the container is included in the
charge imposed in the Revenue Statement. The following standard waste containers are
hereby approved for use in Noosa Shire.
Standard General Waste Container
140 litre wheelie bin with nature green body and nature green lid or a red lid, fitted with axle
and 2 wheels. (These bins are not available for new services).
240 litre wheelie bin or where the owner requests, a 360 litre wheelie bin with nature green
body and nature green lid or a red lid, fitted with axle and 2 wheels.
Standard Recycling Container
240 litre wheelie bin or where the owner requests, a 360 litre wheelie bin with nature green
body and yellow lid, fitted with axle and 2 wheels.
Standard Garden Waste Recycling Container
240 litre wheelie bin or where the owner requests, a 360 litre wheelie bin with nature green
body and lime coloured lid, fitted with axle and 2 wheels.
Standard Bulk Waste Container
1,100 litre nature green moulded plastic low noise bulk bin with nature green or red hinged
lid fitted with 4 wheels to facilitate movement on site or to the collection vehicle, that may or
may not be fitted with lifting lugs on each side; or
A metal bulk waste container with hinged metal or plastic lid, fitted with lugs each side
designed to be serviced by a collection vehicle fitted with forks on a front loading truck in the
following approximate capacities:
1 Cubic Metre
1.5 Cubic metre
2 Cubic Metre
3 Cubic Metre
Standard Bulk Recycling Container
1,100 litre nature green moulded plastic low noise bulk bin with yellow hinged lid fitted with 4
wheels to facilitate movement on site or to the collection vehicle that may or may not be
fitted with lifting lugs on each side; or.
