Nambour.
15,100, 121 More off road cycle pathways, wider shoulders on roads where no cycle paths.
Promote biking with Public Bikes and E-Bikes and widen pathways.
21, 27, 57, 190 Free ferry rides for residents. Public transport on the Noosa River should be
increasing focus in conjunction with commercial operators.
33 Changing all buses to electric and reducing their size with more incentives for
electric cars and bikes.
39, 142 Public transport is not good and costs too much in Noosa. Need affordable
transport options for workers - get rid of Blue buses and replace with smaller
affordable shuttles.
45, 191 Rail link from Eumundi to Noosaville. The train network should be extended to
include coast.
46 Bike path from Nancy Cato Park to Hastings Street to avoid traffic and tackling
park cars.
61, 168 Cycling can be accommodated with better urban bikeways with
tunnels/bridges/overpasses. The off road cycle paths should be extended from
Cooroibah to Boreen Point.
121 Industrial areas to be services by alternatives to private car usage to reduce
dependence on private vehicles.
121 Concern about continuation of long term contracts with Translink and the
difficulties this will have with moving towards zero net emissions and trialling new
innovations. There is a need for greater integration of transport modes with the
ferry, buses, scooter and bike hire . Need to link open space and community
events with better public transport to reduce car parking and traffic issues. Look at
reintroducing travel smart programs for behaviour change and reduce private car
usage. Need to expand free bus service with pilot programs like restricting car
access to the national park and Hastings street between certain times. Council
staff to show model behaviour and introduce a fleet of scooters , eBikes for
Councillor and staff use. Bike to work days and car free days. Reduce car parking
time limits in Hastings Street and the surrounds during peak times.
