Properly Made Submission (Object No.31) - Dr Margaret Williams MCU12/0216
Subject: tt bcs 1192 MCU12/0216 Notice of submission Dr Margaret S Williams From: [email protected] Date: 2013-05-08T06:57:50+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council Submission to Council Re: MCU12/0216 Attn: Mr Marcus Brennan Assessment Manager Sunshine Coast Council Dear Mr Brennan, I wish to forward comments for consideration objecting to the above Development Application. 1. I believe that the notification for the proposal to change the development was not adequate. The sign posted at the site on Lake MacDonald Drive was set well back from the road and not prominently displayed (we travel on this road several times a day and have not noticed it). Although this notification was advertised in the Sunshine Coast Daily under Proposed Development Notices, most people don't necessarily read this. I found out about this only today, the last day of the submission period, and called a friend whose property actually backs onto the CSR site. She was not notified and was completely unaware of the proposed development changes, and now has no time for a submission objecting to the development. 2. In the Traffic Impact Assessment Report a total of 60,000 vehicle movements over the 2 yr period for the proposed operation is anticipated, which represents over 100 trucks a day on a 2 lane country road. This would cause significant disturbance to the local residents close to the site with an increase in noise and dust from early in the morning. This would also affect traffic flow and increase risk for accident for other road users - especially residents at Lake Macdonald and Forest Acres. I note there is already clay over the road with the current increase in activity at the site, which may be slippery in wet conditions. CSR advised in the past that there were 32,400 vehicle movements per year using the brickworks and as such does not indicate an increase in traffic. Locals that I have talked with today suspect this is grossly overestimated, and wonder if this figure has been independantly substantiated. Due to not being previously aware of the proposed change in development at the site at 271 Lake Macdonald Drive there is no time for my further analysis of the local impacts for this submission. Regards, Dr Margaret S Williams 334 Old Tewantin Road, Lake MacDonald
