4.12.2 Neighbourhood Safe Places and Evacuation Centres.
Neighbourhood Safe Places and Evacuation Centres will be opened by the Noosa Council in the event
of an emerging bushfire or natural disaster event. The location of these centres will be dependent on
the type of emergency or disaster and will be provided in Noosa Shire Council’s Disaster Dashboard.

These centres are only for places of last resort and only to be used if all other options are exhausted
and you cannot seek refuge with family or friends outside the area impacted by the bushfire or only
attend the centre if directed by State or Local government officers (including police, firefighters etc.) or
the fire has escalated, and evacuation and refuge at these shelters is your ONLY safe option.
