As a retailer operating from Eumundi Rd Noosaville, I see the expansion of Noosa Civic shopping centre as vital to the ongoing viability of retailing in Noosa generally . Noosa Civic as it stands now is only half a shopping centre and I know for a fact that many, many Noosa residents have gone back to shopping at the Plaza at Maroochydore for the variety of stores and the fact that they can make a day out there. Civic takes about an hour to cover and should never have been built if it wasn’t going to be completed. I have heard from Taxi and Bus drivers here that the tourists are forever asking for more shops generally and where is our “ decent regional shopping centre “ Not every tourist wants to spend all day every day at Main Beach or the National Park. More shops will ultimately lead to more jobs and more activity in the area , and more activity will benefit everybody . Noosa residents are too ready to oppose every development proposal put forward and while we all enjoy the unique nature of our environment , a lot of us still have to make a living here. With no growth a town will stagnate and die and we would all like our children to live and work here long into the future . I can’t believe that many people cried out for the Masters development ( when we can’t support Bunnings adequately ) but oppose the Civic expansion . How many tap washers and nuts and bolts can we buy? I certainly am all for the next stage of Noosa Civic and so is every member of my family .

Kind regards,
                       Peter
