PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 12 DECEMBER 2017
6. Consideration for Noosa Council Delegate Representation
The MRCCC have indicated that delegates must be able to attend regularly and that delegates
are usually Councillors or Senior Managers. Officers are represented on various steering and
working groups and will continue to provide advice and input as required.
Considering the requirements of the delegates outlined in section 2 above, it is considered that
Cr Stockwell would be an appropriate and suitable delegate to represent Noosa Council (Local
Government).
Previous Council Consideration
Since 2014, Noosa Council’s delegate on the MRCCC has been the Environment Officer (Rivers
and Coast). Prior to this, Council’s nominated delegate was the Sunshine Coast Council’s
Partnerships Officer who was previously Noosa Council’s Environment Services Manager.
As mentioned above delegates for Local Government are usually Councillors or senior
Managers.
Finance
There are no financial implications on the current budget.
Risk and Opportunity
Having a representative on the MRCCC provides an important opportunity for Council to have
relevant issues and concerns represented at this forum, for knowledge contribution and
information sharing to occur and for linkages to broader catchment management issues and
opportunities to be considered.
