Attention The Noosa Council.
Development application for 195 room, 360 car space hotel resort. Serenity Close

Dear Council,

I am writing to express my concern in regard to the above proposed development.
I have lived in Grant Street for many years and have witnessed a considerable increase in traffic volume, to the extent I have raised the problem with Council in the past.
There have been numerous incidents of parked vehicles being damaged by passing trucks and other large vehicles. I am sure the police reports will be able to verify this.

In addition, large trucks carrying big loads have not been able to make the bend in front of my property and consequently have held upon traffic for considerable time.
In some cases, these trucks have had to back down to the circle at the junction and use an alternative entry to Serenity Close.

Apart from the increase in traffic, there is the question of adequate safety for pedestrians. I personally have been challenged by trucks and cars travelling at dangerous speeds on Grant Street.
Even though it is against Council regulations to park on the verge, this continuous to happen. Any additional traffic would increase the likelihood of serious accidents and possible death.

Lastly, over the last 2 years when the construction of apartments commenced again in Serenity Close, we have seen a strain placed on the water and sewerage system at the bottom of Grant Street,
with numerous teams from Unity Water trying to fix the ongoing problems. I understand, having talked to Unity Water management, the system is under pressure from the current load and will not handle any increase in capacity.
As residents we continue to suffer ongoing sewer smells.

I would ask you kindly to note the objections I have raised and provide me with feedback as to the Council's decision on the above application.

With thanks,

Graeme Ballentine
