been appropriately co-sited with existing, similar
infrastructure uses, namely the power
stanchions, located on site.
The siting of this facility has been a strategic and
comprehensive process undertaken to provide an
efficient and high quality service to the
community, whilst minimising potential impacts
on the environment. Existing infrastructure uses
within the area will not be impacted by the
development.
For these reasons, the proposal is considered to
comply with the intent of DEO 3.1.3 (l).
In summary, the proposed Telecommunication Facility will:
• Have negligible impact on the environmental quality, ecological values or the natural
resources in the region as it will be located in a previously cleared area that does not
contain protected vegetation or terrestrial/aquatic ecosystems;
• Result in minimal impact on the scenic landscape values of the region as it will be
located a considerable distance from residential areas and tourist routes and screened
by existing vegetation; and
• Support economic development and community wellbeing in the Council by providing
fixed wireless access to local residents, businesses and visitors.
For the reasons outlined above, the proposed Telecommunication Facility is determined to
comply with the Planning Scheme DEOs.
