Figure 8.6: View towards proposed location of the facility (arrowed) looking south-east from near
the residential dwelling located at 327Schreibers Road (approx. 1.4 km separation distance).
General direction of Proposed
Facility (located approximately
1.4 km behind vegetation)
Figure 8.7: View towards proposed location of the facility (arrowed) looking south-west from
nearby the residential dwelling located at 103 Schreibers Road
The distinguishing features of the locality, as seen in the above figures, show an undulating
terrain, extensive vegetation (including tall, mature trees) located on the rural properties
and road corridors, and large rural residential allotments, which will reduce the visual
impact of the proposed facility. The topography will inhibit views of the proposed facility,
particularly when viewed from Schreibers Road and most of the residential dwellings in the
surrounding area, which are located near to the base of the ridgeline that the facility is
proposed to be located atop of (refer to Figure 8.4).
The surrounding locality contains extensive areas of established mature vegetation,
particularly along the ridgelines and rises in the terrain, which will help to mitigate the
potential visual impacts associated with the development. The proposed facility is located
on a ridgeline that is heavily vegetated to the south and west of the proposed location. The
properties located to the east of the subject site and north of Schreibers Road also contain
patches of dense vegetation. There are clusters of existing vegetation located on the subject
property and near the proposed location of the facility, which will assist in integrating the
slimline monopole into the surrounding landscape. The presence of extensive, mature
vegetation on the surrounding properties and within the Schreibers Road corridor, coupled
with the undulating and steep terrain, will make the facility less discernible when viewed
from these areas, as shown in Figure 8.6 and Figure 8.7. Therefore, the proposed facility will
be effectively screened from nearby residential dwellings and is considered a suitable use
for this particular area.
