FLOOD CONSIDERATIONS
3.1. Flood Access
Review of the Noosa Shire Council Intramaps flood layers including the Flood Hazards Overlay and the Flood
Indundation Event Extents has identified that the site is located outside of the flood inundation zone, however during
flooding storm event access to and from the site would be limited. As shown in Figure 3-1 – Flood Inundation Extents
(Noosa Council Intramaps, 2022), various access roads connecting the site to nearby townships may be inundated.
These include:
- Cootharaba Road, 1.5km north of Kabi Rd
- Road 176, immediately east of the site
- McKinnon Drive, 4.5km south east of the site
- Gympie Kin-Kin Road, Kin Kin
- Louis Bazzo Drive, Pomona
As the site is not inundated during the storms, it is recommended a shelter in place strategy be adopted as part of a
Flood Emergency Management Plan to be developed for the site.
