SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE AGENDA 7 JULY 2020

C. Delegate the Chief Executive Officer to authorise funding payments to the successful
     applicants; and
D. Request the Chief Executive Officer to provide a report on the outcome of the 19/20
Community Disaster Response and Recovery Grant round at a future Council meeting.

Finance
Funding for the 2019/20 Community Grants Program was determined as part of the 2019/20
Budget process. $27,000 was remaining and has now been allocated to the Disaster Response
and Recovery Grants Program for a single round of Quick Response grants. A budget adjustment
will be included at BR1 to carry over unspent funds into the 2020/21 year for any Disaster
Response and Recovery Grants monies that are still to be paid to successful grant applicants at
30 June.
Traditionally, two funding rounds for Community Project Grants are run and budgeted for each
financial year. However, due to COVID -19 a hold was put on the first round (Round 13)
The Community Project Grants allocation for the 2020/2021 year will be adopted as part of the
2020/21 Budget in July 2020. Round 13 is the first of two rounds for the 2020-2021 financial year,
with the remainder to be allocated in the second round.

Risks & Opportunities
Other recovery initiatives are being explored and implemented to ensure that support is
sustainable; complements Federal, State and other peak body current response policies and
funding; uses existing delivery mechanisms where possible and is proportionate to the degree of
the economic shock and the impact on the economy.
Community groups have the opportunity to leverage Council grant funding from other external grant
sources.
