6 NOISE CALCULATION

Noise calculations were conducted based on the measured noise levels in Table 4 and the operational
conditions highlighted in Sections 5.1 to 5.3.

6.1 MODELLING SCENARIOS

Predicted noise impacts from onsite activities to residential lots 17-19 have been calculated using
SoundPLAN™ computer modelling. The following scenarios were considered in the assessment:

e All loading docks and compactor operating concurrently, representing the worst-case scenario
for day time noise emissions.

e Allloading docks operating concurrently, representing the worst-case scenario for evening and
night time noise emissions as per the description in Section 5.1.2 and Section 6.2.

« Mechanical plant operational scenarios as described in this report.

6.2 GENERAL MODELLING ASSUMPTIONS
The analysis was conducted based on the following assumptions:

e Mechanical plant noise source levels based on the attended measurements in Table 4 with
additional controls listed below, which limit the noise impacts.

e Sensitive receivers are considered on Lot 17-19 with facade line of the proposed residential
development based on the latest architectural plans provided to ALC, with the locations as
shown in Figure 3.
