Table 1-2 Met-Ocean Input for Storm Erosion Analyses at Castaways Beach Component 100-Years ARI Value Significant Wave Height 9.64m Peak Wave Period 16s Storm Tide Level 2.44m AHD 1.2.3 EPAW Calculation Based on the analyses described herein, the calculation of the EPAW was taken to be:- E=[(NxR)+C +S] x (1+F)+D = [(83x0) + 32 + 23] x (1.4) =77m According to the Queensland Coastal hazard Guidelines, this calculated EAWP is to be set back from the seaward toe of the frontal dune at the site. The seaward toe of the frontal dune is normally approximated by the seaward limit of terrestrial vegetation or, where this cannot be determined, the level of present day HAT. 'Present day HAT' in the definition is always taken to be the present day level of HAT for the coastline as defined in the Queensland Tide Tables for that year, or as defined by empirical methodology at the site. In this way the landward boundary of the erosion prone area defined above will continue to move landward over time as sea level rises in the future.
