This section provides the detailed refuse calculations and describes the arrangements for the collection,
storage, transfer and disposal of refuse within the development. This includes associated bin quantities,
storage capacities, equipment details, collection frequencies and site access details.
2.1. Refuse Calculations
The generation rates provided in the SC6.10 – PSP9 Waste management in the Noosa Plan 2020 have been
deemed too low for this development based on the current generation rates of a similar development by the
proposed operators. The generation rates used for the calculation of the refuse for this development have
been sourced, with the intent of providing maximum stream separation, from Sydney City Council where
possible, area usages missing from SCC’s generation rates have been sourced from the City of Melbourne
Council. An additional estimation has been provided for green waste generation for total landscaped areas at
an average for intensively and passively maintained areas.
