3. Details of Submission
I (We), make the following submission:
I oppose the service station being built on Lot 30 Eumundi Road Noosaville. I am concerned that there will be unhealthy
fuel emissions from the petrol station in the school grounds, the impact will be evident in future years. There is no long
term impact statement or study that can guarantee harm will not be done to developing children. There is a higher risk of
fire because of inflammable substances that would not normally be associated with a business such as tanks with
thousands of litres of fuel underground.
The extra traffic entering and exiting the service station and shop may increase the risk of harm to children walking or
riding their bikes to and from school. Already it is a high traffic area due to the school drop off and pick ups times as well
as other employees accessing their businesses in the area.
Good Shepherd Lutheran School already experiences traffic congestion at school times and there have been reports of
road rage from the public trying to use the roundabout outside the entrance on Eumundi Road. The school has limited car
parking and the service station will impact on parking and vehile congestion on Eumundi Road.
There is already a service station being built across the road. How can the consumer need possibility warrant two service
stations in the planned location.
