                        NOOSA COUNCIL (MCU 18/0009)
SPECIAL EVENT DAY PARKING MANAGEMENT PLAN (Condition No 2.2 & 5 )
                           FOR NOOSA CARE

Special Event days are small scale and occur as follows:

• Christmas Day
• Fathers Day
• Mothers Day
• Anzac Day

On these days staff will be advised by Management that they will be required to fill the
temporary parking areas by use of the internal email called “Platinum”. Parking officers will
be appointed to direct staff to these temporary parking areas 15 minutes before each
change of shift. These temporary parking areas on internal roads will leave the normal
staff parking areas free for additional visitor parking. Refer to attached drawing 16519-
C101

A further parking strategy, if necessary, will be to utilize the Noosa Care buses which have
a seating capacity of 50. As a significant number of the 200 odd employees live in the
Tewantin / Noosaville area they could be transported to and from their residences and or
collection points to the Noosa Care Carramar site. This will be a most cost effective way to
reduce any heightened temporary demand for spaces.

The facility is for residential age care and persons suffering from dementia. The average
age of entry is 80 years of age and essentially residents have restricted mobility, ill health
or are required to be kept in a secure environment.

Visitors to residents are often of similar age eg. Spouses, near relatives and/or friends and
often qualify for concessional use and are transported to the facility by the maxi taxi
service rather than self-drive and require car parking, reducing the demand for spaces.
This frequently occurs at the small number of events held.

The facility has restricted access with secure gate. Only employees, authorized visitors to
relatives, or visitors by invitation are allowed onto the site and management has the ability
to control the timing of events to suit vacant car parking supply. For example a number of
the non care staff such as office/maintenance personnel, work set hours 5 days a week.
Events can be held outside peak demand time. The car park is not available for casual or
general public parking.

Yours faithfully,
