To Marcus Brennan. 03/05/2013 RE MCU12/0216 I wish to note my objection to this volume of trucks been allowed along Lake MacDonald Drive. I travel this road twice a day going to work at Noosaville. In the last week the road has been left in a mess since they have started earthworks at the site they plan on removing the clay from. The road is covered in clay! Having built a house myself I know that we had to put Gravel at the end of our driveway so that no mud and dirt was transported down the road. Why is this NOT the case for the Brickworks. Why do they not have a truck out there daily watering down the road and cleaning it as they are the ones making the mess. The last 2 days I have been nearly run down by trucks speeding down the new dirt driveway onto the road. Me being on the main road has right of way but these truck drivers just think they can do what they want. It’s very scary to come over the hill and a big truck and trailer is hurtling at you. Why are they Speeding!!! With this amount of trucks proposed, and the entry on Lake MacDonald being just over the hill causing such a blind spot for cars going down the road meeting with trucks crossing, surely somebody is going to have to pay for some sort of Health & Safety system being either temporary lights or manned by people with Stop & Go signs. Without this it’s an accident waiting to happen. We also have enough trouble getting pot holes fix on this road and Forest Acres Dr (there’s a round-a-bout on Forest Acres that desperately needs to be completely resurfaced it’s so rough yet we never see the council doing anything about it). Letting these trucks run up and down is going to rip up the road and big pot holes be left behind and what happens to the broken car windows and stone chips we get from the rocks trucks flick up on us, whose going to pay for this??? We were told they closed up that Brickworks, sent all processing to Brisbane and sacked the people so how can they just come back and destroy our beautiful area we have out here? Yours Sincerely Vikki Harper & Tony Trindall 262 Forest Acres Dr Lake MacDonald QLD 4563 Ph: 0438 849 294.
