Dear Editor, Why is it, the majority of times, that lives are changed by councillors who vote on something that has nothing to do with them, or is never likely to affect them? By voting for the West Cooroy broiler farm, councillors will be destroying a whole community directly or indirectly. • Rather than it being be a boost for the local economy, the few jobs created will be offset by the decrease in spending and employment by surrounding landowners whose property values would be affected. • People’s health would be affected not only by dust, feathers and foul odours, but also by noise from heavy vehicles and machinery. • The ruining of our beautiful part of the countryside that is admired by all who visit the district. • Damage to roads that can’t carry the amount of heavy trucks that will need to travel frequently to and from the farm. • Heavy vehicles having to drive through our lovely town day and night which hasn't been designed to carry the amount of trucks.
