To whom it may concern,
Dhakkan/Mundaggudda and Maroochy Space project – Yarning Circle
The building of a first nations yarning circle at the western edge of the Cooroy Butter Factory pottery
facilities is an exciting project that the Cooroy Future group wholeheartedly supports. The proposed
location is currently underutilised, and the CFG considers the building of a yarning circle would add a
permanent facility for the benefit of a wider proportion of the Cooroy Community.
The proposed yarning circle will predominantly be landscaping and surface treatment. This design
will require minimal maintenance. Cooroy Future Group commits to monitor the space and notify
Council when the area requires tidying or maintenance. In discussions with Paul Brinkman, Noosa
Council’s Arts and Culture Manager, it has been agreed that Council budgets for the Butter Factory
Maintenance will incorporate any future costs associated with the maintenance of the yarning circle.
We wish the yarning circle and the overall project every success.
Yours faithfully,
Kym Neaylon
President
Cooroy Future Group Inc.
