PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 8 NOVEMBER 2016
Consultation
External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder
The Flying Fox Management Officer has been in contact with the Natural Resource Supervisor at
Eurobodella Council in regards to a similar Subsidised Services program they initiated, to
determine the services provided in their program and the administration involved.
On Sunday 16 October, the Flying Fox Management Officer and Cr Ingrid Jackson performed a
face-to-face interview with individual residents within an established 75-metre radius around
Wallace Park. Residents were encouraged to provide feedback on their main issues, if any, with
the flying fox colony at Wallace Park and register interest in the proposed services for the
Subsidised Services Initiative. Many residents also provided suggestions on other services they
wanted included in the program.
The Flying Fox Management Officer met with Tewantin Noosa Bowls Club Management, Board
and Grounds staff to determine services that would benefit the bowlers and the business. They
identified that replacement of existing permanent shaded areas with retractable shade cloth
would reduce cleaning time and effort.
