This area will require direct revegetation of suitable native species to meet Condition 15 & 29 of Council's approval. Revegetation within denuded areas is to include species drawn from the species palette listed in Table 2 & 3 to achieve the performance criteria listed in Table 1 (refer RP-03). Plate D depicts an example of a denuded area requiring revegetation. Plate D - Supplementary Revegetation Area (foreground) SITE PREPARATION The methodology for the revegetation program is to generally occur in the following chronological order: 1. Clearly mark any existing native species that may be obscured within the weed control areas to prevent incidental damage during site preparation and weed control activities. Slash entire revegetation zone. 3. | Undertake comprehensive weed control, including control/removal of woody weed species. 4. Delineate planting rows and stem locations 5. Apply herbicide treatment to each planting location (500mm radius spray zone around stem location) 6. Once herbicide treatment has taken effect, install Canopy and Small Trees. 7. Water in plants as required. 8. Apply mulch. 9. Undertake maintenance for duration of maintenance period. 10. Slash reemergent grass between planting rows. 11. After completion of year 2 maintenance apply herbicide to remaining grass cover and install understorey species. PLANTING METHOLOGY N Planting Once weed treatment has taken effect, individual planting holes are to be manually dug or by mechanical auger at the densities prescribed within this Plan. Plants are to be provided as 50mm native tubestock. As a minimum, all tubestock is required to: e Have a significantly established root system; e Not display signs of ‘yellowing’, leaf or stem damage or disease, root curling/girdling or restriction related to being ‘pot bound’; « Shrubs to have a single, straight trunk that is a minimum of 25cm tall for 50mm tube-stock; and @ North Coast Environn Service Environmental Management Consultants eect ental P07 5450 S984 PO Box 9566 Pacific Paradise. ais. 4564 | VEGETATION MANAGEMENT & REHABILITATION PLAN ne soses 085 160 GLENRIDGE DRIVE, COOROIBAH (LOT 47 ON RP806577) 4 e Be sun hardened. Planting must not occur unless soil moisture is adequate; . All stock must be watered immediately prior to planting; . All planting holes are to be pre-watered prior to installation of tubestock; and . Apply an initial establishment watering and continue to water as required to ensure survival. Mulch Each plant installed is to have a minimum 500mm radius ‘ring’ of organic mulch (e.g. sugar can mulch) applied to a depth of 100mm and adequate mulch covering must also be present at the point of off-maintenance (i.e. minimum 50mm mulch coverage should be available). Plant Density Replanting must occur with the following density: e Canopy Trees 5m centres. e« Small Trees 3m centres e Understorey species 2m centres Plant Diversity The following minimum diversity must be implemented: e Canopy Trees — No less than 5 species from Table 2 e Small Trees — No less than 5 species from Table 2 e Understorey species — No less than 3 species from Table 2 Management — Low Flammability Revegetation Species area Specific management activities are required to ensure safety and meet the Bushfire Hazard Assessment recommendations within the 10m low flammability area. The species palette selected for this low flammability area is identified in Table 3 and was specifically chosen to allow the area to return to a natural state with no management techniques required (e.g. mowing) whilst still maintaining low flammability characteristics. Tain Planting Species Palette A list of suitable species to be used is presented in Table 2. Additional species may be used if they are locally indigenous to the Regional Ecosystem Eucalyptus racemosa subsp. racemosa woodland to open forest community. Where the species listed are not available at time of works then similar native alternatives that occur within the local vegetation communities may be utilised. Species substitution must be undertaken in conjunction with advice from a specialist native plant nursery (e.g. Landcare).
