INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 3 MARCH 2015
2015/16 Financial implications of three final options
Option 1 - Venue for Hire managed and operated by Council
Maintenance $25,000
Depreciation $19,440
Total Operating Cost $44,440
This assumes that venue hire covers other basic costs such as cleaning, electricity, water and
security which would be approximately $36,000. Current revenue from hiring is less than $5,000
per annum, therefore unless there is active marketing of the facility there is a risk that there will
be a shortfall in revenue and additional cost burden to Council.
Option 2 - Arts Centre managed and operated by Council
Revenue $ 15,000
Expenditure $222,000
Employee Costs $106,527
Materials and Services $95,000
Depreciation $19,440
Other Expenses $ 1,033
Net Cost to Council $207,000
Option 3 - Community Facility with the Cooroy Lower Mill Board as the managing organisation
Grant to Cooroy Lower Mill Board $80,000
Maintenance $25,000
Depreciation $19,440
Total Operating Cost $124,440
Capital Works
This current review and previous reviews have highlighted the need for building modifications to
address building constraints and increase potential uses. It is therefore recommended to
consider enhancements across the coming three years. There may be scope for a community
managed model to seek external funding to achieve this.
