PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 8 FEBRUARY 2022
In October 2021, Council staff developed an application on the Collector App to quantify the sampling
using the above criteria. Other data collected is substrate type, weather (temperature, wind direction,
atmospheric conditions e.g. rain, fine, cloudy, showers), the approximate amount of rain between
surveys and whether any algae samples were sent away for identification.
The nutrient samples were collected monthly by Noosa Integrated Catchment Association (NICA)
and sent to Unity Vater for analysis. The nutrients being measured include:
e Total nitrogen
e Ammonia
e Nitrates and Nitrites
e Total Phosphorus
e Filtered Reactive Phosphorous (FRP)
The results of the nutrient sampling were then uploaded up into the SVIM local database and
included in Council’s nutrient data file.
