The proposed Aquaculture Operation would consist of a total water
surface area of approximately 7.2ha. (See fig 2). As shown the
Aquaculture proposal consists of:-
Nine, outdoor, purpose built production ponds measuring 90m x 45m
for an area of3.645ha
Eleven, outdoor, purpose built production ponds measuring 65m x
32.5m for an area of 2.324ha
Three, outdoor, purpose built plankton ponds measuring 50m x 33m
for an area of 0.495ha
Twenty Four, internally housed Broodstock Holding tanks measuring
2.12m x 2.13m for an area of 108.89m2
Sixteen, internally housed Fingerling rearing troughs measuring 4.0m
x O.5m for an area of 32m2, and
One 40m x 165m settlement pond for an area ofO.66ha
Water for the proposal would be drawn from the existing 5.67ha
watercourse as well as bore water.
Hatchery Operations and Broodstock Holding facilities would be housed
in the existing 1052m shed space (See Fig 3). The shed has a sealed
concrete floor and is serviced by "Three Phase" power and water.
