Council pay the fixed access water and sewerage charges for all eligible not for profit
organisations in the Shire (as defined in Councils community grants policy and excluding those
community groups who are already recommended to receive this payment as part of a 2015/16
operational grants) at an estimated cost of $75,000.
Implementation
Following adoption of this report, grant applicants will be notified of the outcomes. Funding to
successful applicants will be distributed in July 2015 providing they have no outstanding debt to
Council.
Any eligible not for profit community organisations (as defined in Councils grants policy and
excluding those community organisations who are already recommended to receive this payment
as part of a 2015/16 operational grants) will be provided funding assistance by Council for fixed
water and sewerage annual access charges.
A second round of community project grants will be advertised later in 2015 for projects
commencing in the first half of 2016.
Council officers will also assist community organisations to identify external funding where
available, rather than simply to rely on Council’s Community Grants Program.
