AREA.
5.2.1 NOOSA PLAN 2020
As identified in Section 3.3, the site is mapped as containing an Area of Biodiversity
Significance on the Biodiversity, Waterways and Wetlands Overlay Map. Levels of
acceptable impacts on vegetation are determined via assessment against the overall
outcomes and relevant performance criteria under the Biodiversity, Waterways and
Wetlands code.
Performance Outcome PO1 of the Biodiversity, Waterways and Wetlands code requires
that the development is sited and designed to protect existing habitat areas and
ecological linkages. Additionally, PO3 of the code requires that the development is
designed and sited to manage adverse impacts on ecologically important areas. In
accordance with AO1.1 and AO3.1, the proposed change has been designed to conserve
approximately 6150 sqm of additional vegetation along the perimeter and southern
boundary of the site and minimise adverse impacts to the greatest extent possible. To
ensure effective management of impacts on vegetation on site and in adjoining areas,
specific management measures are outlined in Section 6.
