Following recent publicity regarding the proposed development of this site at 37 Gibson Road,
there has been a ground swell of very concerned Noosa Waters residents who are strongly
opposed to re-zoning and development of this site as a shopping centre.

A Sub-committee of the Noosa Waters Residents Association has been formed to coordinate a
residents campaign to oppose this application.

The Sub-committee would appreciate the following information regarding the processing of
this application:

    1.   Why has this application been referred to the Iconic Places QId Committee, rather than
         the usual Council assessment?
    2.   When and how will residents have an opportunity to have their opinions heard?
    3.   What would be the likely timetable for this assessment to be completed?
