PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 26 MAY 2015

The following grounds are considered sufficient to overcome the conflict with the Planning
Scheme for the inconsistent uses:
1. The convenience shop will fulfil a demonstrated need for convenience shopping within the
       area.
2. The convenience shop is well located on Noosa’s major road network to capture some
escape expenditure by servicing the convenience needs of the travelling public
3. There is a demonstrated need for a small ‘tradies café to service the industrial estate
workers of the industrial estate, without negatively impacting on surrounding uses.
4. The ‘tradies café is suitably located to improve pedestrian accessibility to food offerings in
       the Noosaville industrial area.
The extent of illuminated signage, number and height of the pillar signs to the Eumundi Noosa
Road and the size of some of the wall signs do not comply with the Advertising Devices Code.
When conditions are included to reduce these aspects of the signage proposal, the proposal
complies with the relevant provisions of the Advertising Devices Code and is recommended for
approval.
