5.3.3 CARETAKERS’ ACCOMMODATION, DWELLING UNIT AND RURAL WORKERS’ ACCOMMODATION
CODE
The purpose of the Caretaker’s Accommodation, Dwelling Unit and Rural Workers’ Accommodation
code is to ensure caretaker’s accommodation, dwelling units and rural worker’s accommodation
achieve an acceptable level of comfort, safety and amenity for occupants and are compatible with
non-residential uses on the same site or adjoining premises.
Comment: The proposed Rural Workers’ Accommodation unit will be located within the existing
dwelling house to accommodate employees, and will complement the operation of the existing rural
use of the site. As can be seen in the Floor Plan in Figure 3 within this report, the existing built form
provides suitable accommodation to allow an acceptable level of residential amenity and safety.
The proposal has been assessed against the code and is considered to achieve compliance.
