PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 12 JULY 2016
4. Educational and behaviour change initiatives and campaigns
Healthy Waterways promote programmes such as ‘Up the creek and down the drain’ educational
curriculum for schools and the annual ‘Connect to your creek week’ initiatives including a photo
competition.
PERFORMANCE MILESTONES
Healthy Waterways have provided Performance Milestones under the proposed three year
funding agreement (see attachment 2). Essentially the services proposed would be the same as
in the past, except there will be a greater focus on local scale water quality monitoring and
scenario modelling to inform appropriate management responses by Council and industry.
MERGER OF HEALTHY WATERWAYS AND SEQ CATCHMENTS
Council is a non-financial member of SEQ Catchments, a regional natural resource management
body supported by government and non-government organisations. To improve economies of
scale and service delivery Healthy Waterways and SEQ Catchments have agreed to merge into
one entity and will now be called Healthy Waterways and Catchments.
