All traffic noise level measurements were conducted in accordance with the following: Australian Standard AS 2702-1984, Acoustics – Methods for the Measurement of Road Traffic Noise; and Transport Noise Management: Code of Practice, Volume 1 – Road Traffic Noise, Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, Issue 2, November 2013. All traffic noise calculations were performed in accordance with the following: Calculation of Road Traffic Noise, Department of Transport, Welsh Office, HMSO, 1988; and Australian Standard AS 3671-1989, Acoustics – Road Traffic Noise Intrusion – Building Siting and Construction. Noise Limits - Rail In accordance with the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning State Development Assessment Provisions, State Code 2: Development in a railway environment: PO25 Development involving an accommodation activity minimises noise intrusion from a railway. AO25.1 A noise barrier or earth mound is provided which is designed, sited and constructed: 1. to meet the following external noise criteria at all facades of the building envelope: a) ≤ 65 dB(A) LAeq,24H facade corrected; b) ≤ 87 dB(A) (single event maximum sound pressure level) facade corrected; 2. In accordance with the Civil Engineering Technical Requirement – CIVIL-SR-014 Design of noise barriers adjacent to railways, Queensland Rail, 2011. OR all of the following acceptable outcomes apply: AO25.2 Buildings which include a habitable room are set back the maximum distance possible from a railway.
