4 C D Developments Environmental Traffic and Rail Noise Level Impact Assessment for Proposed Residential Unit Development, 54 Elm Street and 5 Pearl Street, Cooroy Page 1 of 35 INTRODUCTION It is proposed to remove all existing structures from the subject site at 54 Elm Street and 5 Pearl Street, Cooroy (Lot 2 on RP64750 and Lot 2 on RP153798) and construct a total of eleven residential units. Based on the consultant’s site inspection the only potential noise impacts upon the subject site are traffic noise from Elm Street and rail noise, both of which are State controlled. Elm Street traffic noise, rail noise and general ambient noise levels were assessed from monitoring location A, 54 Elm Street, Cooroy, adjacent to the northern boundary with the microphone elevated 1.6 metres and approximately 7.6 metres inside the Elm Street boundary, which is approximately 23 metres from the centre of traffic on Elm Street and approximately 47 metres to the centre of the railway lines. Refer Figure 1 for details. This report detailed the results of the noise level assessment from monitoring location A, Elm Street traffic noise levels, ultimate traffic noise levels, traffic noise level impact and traffic noise control measures to facades, external living areas and habitable rooms, as well as rail noise impact, rail noise limits and any required rail noise control measures. Refer Figure 1 for locality plan and monitoring location A, Figure 2 for the proposed site plan, Figure 3 for Level 1 and 2 floor plans for Units 1 to 4, Figures 4 and 5 for Level 1 and 2 floor plans for Units 5 to 11 and Figure 6 for a section through from Unit 11 to Elm Street, to show the 1.4 metre cut.
