RE: Application for Small Scale Meat Processing Plant @ 82 Patterson Drive Tinbeerwah (MCU21/0154).
Dear Sir/Madam,
Following the delivery of an unsigned Flyer (copy attached) to our letterbox, I am writing in support of
the above application. (Note: details have been taken from the flyer, & are assumed to be accurate).
As a general philosophy I believe we should be supporting cottage industries & initiatives that support
decentralisation, providing they do not significantly adversely impact others or our environment.
Of the concerns identified in the Flyer, I believe the only one with any potential validity would be the
issue of odour. This should not be an issue if appropriate process controls are in place, & are maintained.
I wish the applicant (whom I do not know), the best of luck, and look forward to being able to buy some
specialist product in the future.
Yours Sincerely,
John Kirkpatrick.

Being local residents we will strongly object to this application for a Small Scale Meat Processing Plant in a Rural Residential Zone for numerous reasons, including: e the application is incompatible with Noosa Plan 2020 which states only “non-residential activities ... compatible with and do not impact on the rural residential character and amenity of the zone” e inappropriate activity within identified Koala Habitat area e conversion of a 52 square metre shed into a sophisticated meat processing plant which entails hanging and inspection of carcasses, cutting of carcasses, preparation of hide, bone and meat, packaging and cold storage e requiring refrigerated transport to and from the property along local street, Patterson Drive ¢ environmental impact due to odors, noise, waste products, and increased traffic e additional future impact as applicant’s business plan includes “a line of readymade meals, pastries and sausages to go alongside .. wild venison” We trust you will take the time to look at this application and notify council of any objections.
