Noosa Heads – Park Road Boardwalk Renewal




The completion of the Noosa Heads – Park Road Boardwalk renewal project was a significant
achievement by the project and delivery teams over a number of years and the end result is an iconic
asset that blends in to Noosa’s natural environment.
3.   Project design and delivery
The Project Design and Delivery Branch is impacted by staff resignations, extended leave and
prolonged recruitment processes, as well as the secondment of the Project Delivery Coordinator
to the Transport Strategy. These resourcing impacts continue to delay the tender, contracting
and delivery of projects to be delivered in the remainder of the 2018/19 Capital Program.
Design and Delivery staff will forward plan for project adjustments in the third budget review of
the capital program. This will assist Council to have a realistic approach to the successful
delivery of the program for the remainder of the 2018/19 financial year.
Summary
The program is currently behind schedule for the year to date budget of $20.2m, with year to date
actual expenditure of $17.9m to 30 January 2019. Increased monitoring across all projects will be
required for the remainder of the financial year with proposed adjustments to the delivery
timeframes to be considered during future budget review processes.
