CONTEXT
Sitting on the coastal dune at the edge of Noosa National Park, most would say that the locality of fifty four Seaview Terrace feels very much a part of it.
The design will encompass this strong sense of place throughout the site to intensify this connection with the surrounding environment. The landscape
design uses completely endemic plant species that take on the natural forms and feelings of the surroundings to create an all encompassing variety
of experiences. The designs simplicity allows for nature and its palette to situate the proposed residence within its natural environment.
Seaview Terrace is at the centre of the much loved coastal town of Sunshine Beach with its village atmosphere set amongst the rich natural assets of
the Sunshine Coast. Seaview Terrace runs parallel to the dune of Sunshine Beach which is to its east. Fifty four Seaview Terrace is located less than
five minutes walk from the town centre where it sits on the edge of Noosa National Park and the Coral Sea.
The surrounding native vegetation within the National Park contains a strong native palette which has been strongly considered as part of the
design. The vegetation types within close proximity and connect to the site include the highs of the dry wallum woodland and lows of the wet paper
bark woodland and sedgeland to the seacaost environs. The species include the Pink Bloodwood (Corymbia intermedia), Broad Leaf Paper Bark
(Melaluca quinquenervia), Wallum Banksia (Banksia Aemula), Swamp Sheoak (Casuarina glauca), Coastal Banksia (Banksia integrifolia) and Screw
Pine (Pandanus tectorius).

CLIMATIC DATA
CONTEXT TEMPERATURE
The proposed architecturally designed home sits on a five hundred and eighty nine square metre lot. The site is fifteen meters wide and is just over Mean maximum C January 28.6
forty metres long on average from its boundaries at Seaview Terrace and the dune. The average cross fall is under half a meter from the Northern Mean minimum C July 9.3
to the Southern boundary and six metres from Seaview Terrace to the dune frontage. The Architectural design shows a strong consideration for Annual mean maximum C 25.1
Annual mean minimum C 15.8
and the integration of landscaped livable spaces within and extending from the proposed residence.
RAINFALL
Having close proximity to both the beach and the National Park the house has the opportunity to embrace its natural surrounds for design Mean maximum (mm) February 176.8
inspiration and to help create a local natural environment to live in, experience and relax. Mean minimum (mm) July 60.4
Annual rainfall (mm) 1356.6
The site posses’s much opportunity in its location as well as it’s climatic conditions. There is also great opportunity to involve a strong native green WIND
and colourful palette to surround the proposed residence. The sites surrounding native vegetation and natural surroundings offer inspiration for Mean maximum (9am) January 19.2km/h-SE
a natural palette to evolve. Mean minimum (9am) July 14.9km/h-S
Mean maximum (3am) November 4.4km/h-NNE
Mean minimum (3am) June 18.5km/h-SSE

VISION
The arrival is subtle and natural, the landscape materials are local and connected to the place. The gardens are a continuation of the immediate native surroundings as the sculptural
endemic plant species and forms lead and step through into the layers of landscape within and cascading from the residence. Taking from and being part of the natural surrounds
the residence is completely tied to the place through the vegetation, the natural materials and the local wildlife it attracts.
