It is important to note, however, that the reporting history of these figures has been quite short
commencing in 2008, with 2008 being the beginning of economic instability caused by the global financial
crisis (GFC). Over the period July 2008 to July 2011, around 26,800 sq.m of commercial office space
entered the market whilst demand for space slowed. Vacancy rates topped out at 16.3% in January 2010
as significant supply entered the market at a time of weak demand following the GFC.

The current stock proportioning across the Kawana and Maroochydore commercial markets comprise A
grade stock of 46%, B grade stock of 36%, C grade stock of 17% and D grade stock of 1%.
