5.4.2 OCCUPATION PROFILE OF LOCAL WORKERS
In regard to occupations there is a clearer connection to office based employment with significant
numbers of Professionals, Managers, and Clerical and Administrative Workers in the local resident
workforce. Together these three occupational types represent 45% of catchment residents who work in
the catchment. It is likely though that the high proportion of health workers in the catchment are likely to
influence the high number of Professionals identified working locally.

5.5 WHITE COLLAR EMPLOYMENT
The proportion of white collar employment is a key influencer on the number of office based white collar
workers and the demand for office floor space. Office based white collar workers are defined as white
collar workers (as per the ANZSIC Occupation classifications) who are likely to be located in office
accommodation. Occupational classifications at the 4 digit level are used for this classification as this is
the most specific occupational level and subsequently provides the best ability to identify occupations that
are likely to be office based. The 4 digit level occupations that form the base for the estimate of office
based white collar workers are presented in Appendix C.
