Log in to see the plans as drawnTable 11 gives a breakdown of the different pollutant types that are commonly found in effluent water from washing your vehicle at home. This pollution load is currently directly discharged into the local stormwater system. The table shows that the pollution loading is well above what is generally expected when compared with the levels commonly found in the natural marine water environment. Table 12 is similar to Table 10; but with the addition of the proposed Cooroy Car Wash customer usage being included in the table. This table includes the total estimated Cooroy car wash patronage of 67,712 vehicles per annum (as taken from Tables 8 + 9). It also assumes that there is a smaller percentage of people that still use an alternative commercial car wash- even though these facilities may not be directly located in the Cooroy PTA or STA. Car Washing is often seen as an opportunistic use; in that it is most common to be used by passing trade (ie: by customers from the adjoining two Service Station sites) or passers-by. Car Washes are most successful when they are in a convenient location that is easily accessible- such as being on the way to/from the school drop-off/pick-up, on the way to/from doing your food shopping, on the way to/from visiting family/friends or an appointment etc... Usually, Car Washes that are not in a direct path of travel or line of sight are often not as successful as they are not used as an ‘opportunistic’ habit and the customer needs to drive out of their way to use the car wash facility. - 19 - TMC Building Design Group
