REPORT
1. Annual Report and Financial Statements
The development and publication of an Annual Report by Local Governments is a requirement
under the Local Government Regulation 2012 (‘the Regulation’). The purpose of the Report is to
inform the community of what Council has done, financially and otherwise, in the relevant
financial year.
The Report and Financial Statements form part of Council’s system of financial management and
are prescribed financial accountability documents pursuant to 104(5)(b) of the Local Government
Act 2009.
The Regulation prescribes a range of disclosures which must be included within a Local
Government’s Annual Report. These disclosures relate primarily to financial and accountability
matters which may be of interest to the community.
The Noosa Council Annual Report 2014-15 (provided at Attachment 1) has been cross checked
against the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning Annual Report
Compliance Checklist to ensure that all of the prescribed disclosures are contained within the
document.
The Report relates to the reporting period from 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015, and is Council’s first
complete financial year report since it was re-established.
