4 ACCESS ASSESSMENT
Access arrangements to the development have been reviewed and assessed against
the requirements of the Noosa Plan – Transport and Parking Code and also Australian
Standards AS2890.1 for off‐street parking.
The southern crossover will be relocated approximately 6m to the north and the
northern crossover formalized. It is recommended the driveway crossover comply
with the requirements of IPWEA standard drawing SEQ‐ 051 for driveways as shown
in Appendix B.
To comply with the requirements of AS2890.1 the gradient of the driveway should be
less than or equal to 1:20 (5%), and across the footpath the gradient should be less
than or equal to 1:40 (2.5%). The driveways are 1:19 to the property boundary and
1:40 across the 2m wide footpath. This is considered acceptable given the terrain of
the site.
To provide safe passage to pedestrians and cyclists on the pathway, sight lines must
be maintained between the property boundary and the driveway as shown in Figure
10.

Due to the 9m verge width and the alignment of the pedestrian path, the proposal
complies with the requirements and the sight triangles are clear of permanent
obstructions from the existing property boundary.
