MCU10/2083 Notice of submission Kay Passenger
Subject: DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION MCU10/2083 - THE HIVE 37 GIBSON ROAD NOOSAVILLE - OBJECTION From: Kay Passenger Date: 2011-02-10T00:19:03+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council Dear Sir/Madam, I wish to inform you of my objection to planning application MCU10/2083. . I am a permanent residence of Noosa Waters, living at 12 Seahorse Place. It is my opinion that it is not in the best interests of the local residents to have this site rezoned for the following reasons:- This area is already a problem for the local residents because of the late night noise, both from the local fast food outlets and The Villa Noosa Hotel. On Friday and Saturday nights in particular, people (not necessarily locals), are attracted to this area and from 11pm through the early hours of the morning there is hooning in cars and lots of yelling and screaming, which can be clearly heard from our address. We do not need a 24 hour business or more food outlets to attract more people to the area. This type of shopping area is not needed by the locals, we have plenty of food outlets, trading at the hours that most people require. The traffic that these businesses would attract on a daily and nightly basis would be extreme, at a roundabout that is already very busy, with Thomas Street being the main entry and exit for a large number of businesses. With access to this development from Skipper Place, and only a short distance to the right hand turn into the development, traffic would back up onto the roundabout, creating a dangerous situation. This development would draw a great number of people to the area, late at night, as it would be the only place open. The residents of Noosa Waters and surrounding neighbourhoods have been objecting strongly to the longer opening hours applied for by The Villa Noosa Hotel because of the disruption of our quiet amenity and this development would be a huge addition to an already existing problem. If the local residents don't want this development in their area why should a developer be given rezoning permission which would allow for a huge increase in the value of the land and possible devaluation of the adjoining residential land. Once permission is given the project will more than likely be sold with development approval for a huge profit, with the residents left to suffer the results. Please do not rezone this land. Yours sincerely, KAY PASSENGER 12 SEAHORSE PLACE NOOSAVILLE. Q. 4566. 10th February, 2011
