MCU12/0184 Comments Poultry Farm Cooroy - 136 Top Forestry Rd Ridgewood
Subject: Broiler Farm Cooroy From: Clare Jericho Date: 2015-09-22T22:12:07+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail Hi. Just a few questions. Firstly why doesn’t an application like the Broiler Farm in Cooroy need an Environmental Impact Statement done to assess this aspect of the application? Secondly, when Council approves small acreage development like on Top Forestry Road and people settle in the area, why can an application for a intensive farming project like a broiler farm then be a consideration in years to come. The land value of the residents on Top Forestry Road is dramatically reduced by such an application. Not to mention all the adverse problems such a farm/factory would bring. 10 families living on say 10 acres each contribute a lot more to the local community and shire than 1 family with 100 acres. Another question being how could Council consider such an application when the local roads do not cater for a large number of large trucks. The road between Cooroy and Top Forestry would deteriorate quickly and be very dangerous with the addition of trucks. As well as locals, a lot of visitors use this road. Also Mr Milligan has been on the Noosa Council Jury. Surely it is a conflict of interest to have anyone on a jury who has a development application lodged with council. This one application for a Broiler Farm compromises the lives of many people. The residents of Cooroy and surrounds deserve better than to be pushed around by greedy developers. Thank you.
