1.1 This is Us




Noosa Shire (Noosa) is situated in Southeast Queensland, approximately 120 kilometres
north of Brisbane.


Today, “Noosa” encompasses a collection of coastal and hinterland villages and communities,
each with its own distinctive character and heritage.

United by a shared commitment to strong environmental values, in 2007 Noosa earned
UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Status, reaffirmed this status in 2017, and is now focused on
maintaining this global recognition in 2027 – continuing to lead as a model for living in harmony
with nature.

This deep-rooted environmental spirit, combined with Noosa’s breathtaking natural assets and
