Attached to the e-mail Response to Information Request OPW22/0117 - 38 Tristania Dr Marcus Beach.
driveway location has adequate sight distances in all directions to comply with the
requirements of AS2890.1.
The proposed crossover was also assessed against RS-049 and RS-050. The crossover was
found to be located clear of the prohibited zone and designed with a long section that is
compliant with RS-050.
As such, the proposed crossover has been deemed to have adequate sight distances and
able to be constructed to meet all relevant standards.
Issue
The submitted documentation indicates that the applicant proposes to construct a driveway
crossover within the road reserve, in which a minor cut will be required. Council have
concerns regarding the impact the cut will have on the natural surface and the potential
creation of trip hazards within the road reserve.
Information Required
2. Provide an amended plan that demonstrates how trip hazards will be eliminated
within the road reserve due to the construction of the proposed driveway crossover.
Please note that council is unlikely to support private retaining structures within the
road reserve. The amended plan must be prepared by a suitably qualified person
(RPEQ – Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) and include, but not be
limited to:
a. the full extent of the transition to the adjoining areas of verge

Issue
