Aging Population:
P : Noosa’s poopulation is aging,
a quickly. An agingg population not only
means that residen nts are leav ving the wo orkforce (annd producin ng less in economic
e
terms), but at the same
s time tthere will be e increases in demand ffor a range of goods
and serrvices, including aged care, health h care and many rela ted industries. This
demogra aphic shift has
h numerou us implicationns including that the eco
onomy mustt produce
more vaalue with few wer employe ees. At the same time, there are nett declines in younger
residentts, which will
w have an impact on the economy as you ng families are big
spenderrs in the economy
e annd utilise a variety of o services and infrastructure.
Community infrastrructure will be heavily impacted including de eclining dem
mand for
schools,, libraries, da
ay care facil ities, etc.
