Response to Information Request – Development Application for a Development Permit
for Material Change of Use of Premises for 19 Detached Houses at 90 Beach Road, Noosa
North Shore

Reference is made to the request for further information made by the Council on 26 July 2016,
with respect to the abovementioned development application. In the Information Request, the
Council has raised the following issues that are to be considered.

The town planning report submitted provides discussion against the outcomes of the planning
scheme but it is considered that 2 of the keys issues that are raised by the proposal have not
been or insufficiently discussed. These 2 issues are:

       The Visitor Mixed Use Zone is intended to provide for visitor accommodation and services
        within the Noosa North Shore locality. The impacts of the proposal removing visitor
        accommodation from the available visitor accommodation (existing and future) in the
        locality have not been sufficiently addressed.

       Visitor accommodation in Noosa is important due to its contribution to the local
        economy. Tourism has been for many years and continues to be the principal economic
        sector within Noosa. The economic impact of proposed in this locality has not been
        discussed and economic benefit to the community has not been demonstrated.

Stemming from the above issues, the Council has requested further information be provided
as follows:
