                                                                                                          Final Report

 Parking demand for existing parking supply within the above centres, was examined using recent aerial
    imagery observations of parking demand, based on the number of cars occupying spaces;
 Parking demand was evaluated against parking supply to estimate current utilisation of carparking supply.
    Current estimated utilisation was evaluated against an ideal utilisation rate of 85% of space occupied during
    periods of peak parking demand (with a band of 70-90% utilisation considered acceptable). If parking
    utilisation is maintained at this level, it should ensure that there is generally a parking space available to
    those who require it, but also to minimise large areas of parking spaces going unutilised for significant
    periods of time;
 Future parking performance for the study areas in Noosa was determined based on assumed growth in
    parking demand. This growth in parking demand was determined based on inputs of residential population
    growth, growth in visitor demand (where relevant), and expected future development, (based on
    development capacity);
 Appropriate parking demand management measures were evaluated for each study area in Noosa, including
    additional parking supply where possible; and
 While the focus of this study has been to identify potential future on-street parking demand and appropriate
    Council led parking demand management interventions, parking demand is also an outcome of parking
    policy decisions. As such, potential parking policy options, their impact on developer parking decisions and
    overall parking outcomes, have also been discussed.
