Noosa Car Parking Study 2017 - 2032
Final Report
Figure 3-6: Utilisation of Cooroy Study Area Parking Supply
Observed parking demand via the aerial survey suggests that carparking within the Cooroy study area is
currently underutilised, with a carparking utilisation rate of 59%. This is within the range of the observation
survey utilisation (55% - 82%) but lower than the average observation survey utilisation at 71%. This indicates
that existing parking supply generally has capacity to cater for additional on-street parking demands.
It is noted, however, that weekend markets provide sharp temporal peaks in parking demand, such that some
intervention may be required – i.e. appropriate parking management measures by the operators of the markets.
3.4 Hastings Street
3.4.1 Parking Environment
The project study area for the Hastings Street centre is shown in Figure 3-7. The majority of parking within the
study area is designated as restricted 2-hour parking, with some unrestricted parking along Noosa Parade.
