Noosa Car Parking Study 2017 - 2032
Final Report
Gold Coast Council
The Gold Coast currently has minimum parking rates within centre zones which are either inside and outside the
main transport hub area. Given the limited amount of public transport currently within Noosa the parking rates
within the transport hub light rail area are not considered an appropriate comparison to Noosa’s existing
transport capability.
The published parking rates within the Gold Coast City Plan Transport Code are highlighted in Table 6-3.
Specifically, the suggested parking rates for District centres zones such as Burleigh (outside the Gold Coast
Transport Hub) have been used as a point of comparison.
Table 6-3: Gold Coast Minimum Centre Zone Parking Rates
Land Use Parking requirement
Non-residential Outside Transport Hub: 3.3 per 100m2 of TUA
Residential (Permanent / long-term Outside Transport Hub: 1 space per unit or dwelling and 1 per 10 units or dwellings

6.1.2.3 Comparable Local Council Parking Rates – Queensland
Parking rates within other local Councils have also been used as a point of comparison below so to provide an
idea of how Noosa’s Parking rates currently compare to other councils, as shown in Table 6-4.
