Character of the area

A large scale industry such as this is totally out of character with the area. Most of the people that live in this area may have a bit of cattle and some grow small crops. 

 

The area has lots of trees, windy and narrow dirt roads. This is part of the reason we bought here. We like that you have to drive slowly and that the trees hang over the road.

 

Once you get industry like this they want the roads winded, sealed etc. and this changes the character of the area.

 

Impact of traffic on Old Ceylon Road and Belli Creek Road

I am concerned by the increase in traffic along Old Ceylon Road and Belli Creek Road. The traffic will be trucks not just your average car. I have send this on Kenilworth road with truck of river sand etc. and do not want this in our area.

I am also concerned about the noise of braking and general truck noise. Top Forestry road noise would drift right down through our small valley. Noise does travel a lot in this area.

 

Visual Amenity

Large industrial sheds would significantly impact on the visual amenity of the area. Anything on the ridge of top forestry road is extremely visible to the surrounding valleys.
